How It Works

Get the Best Results

For the best PRP treatment results, consistency is key. Treatments are typically performed once a month for the first three to four months, and then every three to six months thereafter, depending on the individual patient's response and results. Following this protocol, anticipated results can first be seen within two to three months.

Step 1: Blood Draw

In step 1 of the Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) procedure, we demonstrate drawing blood from our clients arm. This step is performed by a highly trained nurse practitioner.

Step 2: Platelets Separation

In step 2 of the Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) procedure, we demonstrate separating the platelets from the blood taken in step 1.

Our blood is made of two main components, red blood cells, and plasma. The plasma contains white blood cells and platelets, which are rich in growth factors. Growth factors can help stimulate the activity of the hair follicles and promote new hair growth.

Step 3: Platelet-Rich Plasma Injection

In step 3 of the Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) procedure, we demonstrate injecting the PRP into the desired treatment areas of our patients hair.
‍
As the procedure may take several minutes to complete, a local anesthetic will be used to ensure the patient is as comfortable as possible. Patients who undergo PRP treatment should be able to return to normal everyday activities almost immediately.

Aftercare

Once all 3 steps in the PRP treatment have been completed, we use laser lamp therapy as a form of after care. Low-level laser therapy irradiates photons into scalp tissues. These photons are absorbed by weak cells to encourage hair growth.

"Continue to have great results after my PRP treatment."

FAQs

Read our answers to our trichology studio's frequently asked questions.

Do PRP treatments hurt?

The level of pain or discomfort experienced during a Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment can vary from person to person. Some individuals may report minimal discomfort, while others might find the procedure slightly more uncomfortable.

It's important to communicate your comfort level with the medical professional performing the procedure. They can offer guidance on managing discomfort and might be able to adjust their technique to make the experience more tolerable. If you're concerned about pain, you can discuss options for numbing or pain management with your healthcare provider before the PRP treatment.

What are the risks involved with PRP treatments?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment, a procedure that involves injecting a concentrated solution of a patient's own platelets into the targeted area, is generally considered safe when performed by qualified medical professionals. However, like any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects associated with PRP treatment.

It's important for individuals considering PRP treatment to have a thorough consultation with a qualified trichologist who can assess their suitability for the procedure, discuss potential risks, and provide personalized recommendations based on their medical history and condition. As with any medical procedure, patients should make an informed decision after discussing the potential benefits and risks with a medical professional.

Who does PRP work best for?

PRP for hair loss is most effective when treating androgenetic alopecia, also known as hormone-related baldness. Androgenetic alopecia affects both men and women, resulting in balding at the crown and front of the head in men, and balding that begins with a widening of the part in women.

Do you offer PRP treatments for all hair types and textures?

Yes! We provide hair loss treatments for both men and women of all hair types. Our certified Trichologist—a trained and certified hair and scalp expert, will get to the root of you hair loss to help restore your confidence.

What is trichology?

Trichology is the specialized field of study and practice that focuses on the health and conditions of the hair and scalp, encompassing the scientific understanding of hair growth, structure, and disorders, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of various hair and scalp issues, ranging from hair loss and thinning to dandruff and other dermatological concerns.
